On the second day of our Socktacular September event, knitting expert Corrina Ferguson taught a class on how to make Evanthe, which is a beautiful, crescent shawl she designed exclusively for Sheep Thrills Yarn Shop in Broward County!
The pattern has gotten some great attention on Ravelry, so we know people are interested in making it! If you’d like to buy a kit so you can knit this shawl now, click here! For more details & tempting images, read on!
Evanthe is a crescent shawl which is knit in a beautiful lace pattern. The yarn is by innovative Florida yarn company, The Fiber Seed. In this pattern, you’ll use Corrina’s fancy cast on, make flower knots, do yarn over short rows, and finish with an elegant crochet bind off. The shawl is gorgeous and compelling. I think you will want one soon!
Our students made their very own swatch in the class where they learned all of the essential techniques to make their own rendition of this masterpiece. Corrina wrote about the class on her blog, Picnic Knits. Thank you, Corrina, for such a wonderful class and pattern!
Now here are the details about the kit! There is a choice of two kits. The first kit is $40 and has the The Fiber Seed Yarn Co. Sprout skein needed and the printed pattern. The second kit is $60, which includes the same yarn and pattern, but also an autographed copy of Corrina’s book, Warm Days, Cool Nights. Both kits also come with a one-time code for a Ravelry download. More color choices are available, also. To order just call the shop at 954-468-5577, or click here. Both kits include shipping.
Don’t forget: this kit would make a great holiday gift for a knitter. This pattern won’t be available anywhere else before 2016!
